Mit „Confusion model into a butterfly“ präsentiert der Kunstverein für Mecklenburg und Vorpommern in Schwerin die erste institutionelle Einzelausstellung der Künstlerin Adriana Ramić in Deutschland. Geprägt von den Erfahrungen einer transkulturellen Kindheit spiegeln sich Fragen nach Sprache, Übersetzung und Zugehörigkeit in Ramićs künstlerischer Praxis wider. In Installationen, Videoarbeiten und Texten verhandeln ihre Arbeiten zentrale Fragen nach hybriden Identitäten, transkulturellen Wissensformen und den Grenzen anthropozentrischen Denkens. So entwickelt Adriana Ramić poetische, konzeptuelle Werke, die gleichermaßen analytisch wie spekulativ operieren und Bezüge zu politischen Realitäten der Gegenwart und Vergangenheit sichtbar machen. Im Zentrum ihrer Ausstellung im Kunstverein steht eine Videoinstallation, die der Katze Oursa in ihrem Lebensumfeld folgt. Diese lebt im ehemaligen Wohnhaus des albanischen Diktators Enver Hoxha, das heute als Künstler:innenresidenz und Kulturzentrum genutzt wird und in dem die Künstlerin Ende letzten Jahres selbst zu Gast war. Die Ausstellung wird durch ein begleitendes Katalogprojekt erweitert.

With “Confusion model into a butterfly”, the Kunstverein für Mecklenburg und Vorpommern in Schwerin presents Adriana Ramić’s first institutional solo exhibition in Germany. Shaped by the experience of a transcultural childhood, questions of language, translation, and belonging are reflected throughout her artistic practice. Working across installation, video, and text, her works engage with questions of hybrid identities, transcultural forms of knowledge, and the limits of anthropocentric modes of thought. Adriana Ramić develops poetic, conceptual works that operate equally analytically and speculatively, making visible connections to political realities of both the present and the past. At the center of her exhibition at the Kunstverein is a video installation that follows the cat Oursa in her living environment. She lives in the former residence of the Albanian dictator Enver Hoxha, which is now used as an artist residency and cultural center, where the artist was in residence at the end of last year. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog project.
